berkeley sais that we know our own existence through inward feeling or reflexion and we know other "spirits" through reason. we can know other spirits throught their "operations" and their "ideas excited in us".

>rm says: This is pretty close. He, of course, would never say that we attain any knowledge through the use of reason (for this would contradict his empiricism), but he does admit that we can't perceive other spirits. So, there's not much else to rely on.
